HP Computers

The following was written by Jack Koenig, President of Jack Koenig & Associates, consultants to the business community since 1976.

AS A PERSON WORKING intimately with computers for over 35 years, I can say without hesitation that Hewlett-Packard computers have become the worse computers I’ve ever seen. And I’m not alone. Many of my colleagues in the consulting field have telling me horror stories of their own pertaining to Hewlett-Packard computers and printers.

Interestingly enough, Computer Discount Warehouse has posted the model numbers of computers they will not service. Included in this exclusively Hewlett-Packard list are 12 HP Pavilion models, three Brios models, and two Omnibook models. In addition, they apparently will not touch the E-Vectra or E-PC series. (For further info, click HERE).

In my opinion, the Pavilion computers are the worse of the worse. From their inability to upgrade to Win 2000, to their constant crashes, mysterious reboots, and other such deficiencies, these “gems” take the “Idiots Award” for engineering.

And “Tech Support” at Hewlett-Packard? An oxymoron if there ever was one! Support personnel seem to have been taught to repeat the same thing over and over: “It’s a Microsoft problem.”

There is a VERY attractive alternative to both the HP and the Dell computers. It’s called the E-Machine. To read more about this “Gem,”, click HERE
