The HP 792c

I read your article on the dilema you had with the HP Printer. I just wanted to tell you that I too had a lousy experience with HP.  In fact, I'm still "fighting" with them about it. It all started with the hard drive on my HP Pavilion 792c machine making an unusual scratching noise. It sounded like a mouse was trying to scratch it's way out of it.  Then the noise was followed by a loud clicking noise and also a very sluggish performace. When I looked into it, I noticed it was coming from the area where the hard drive was. 

I immediately called Tech Support in hopes of getting it taken care of!  This was on 12/23/02. The first tech was not able to help me, then called again, and again and all I got out of this wasted time was my computer got worst.

They had me do a system restore and found that after several tries, it would not work so they decided that they would have to send me the cds (A total of 8) but they were going to take 7 days to arrive. I asked the girl if there was anything else that could be done.

I suggested I would send them bad hard drive back. To my surprise, he said that they don't do that, the standard procedure is for them to send a box and then  I send them the computer so that they can repair it. It would take over 15 days.  I told him that there's no way I can go all that time without a computer because my business depended on it so it was out of the question.

I asked if there was anything else they can do and he said that because there was no centers around my area that the only way was for me to send it in.  He also went on to say that because I bought a "home" computer and not a "business" computer that they were not obligated to go any further. I thought it was a crock but was very upset and told him that I was going to look and see what else I can do legally because I didn't think it was fair.  He said that it was fine, that I had that right and that if he didn't hear from me in the near future, that he was going to assume that verything was fine.

NOT COOL!!

I tell you what, I will never buy another HP product and I wish I would've listen to people when they suggested I buy a DELL instead of HP!!!

I just thought I'd share this with you since you sort of went through the same wasted time and money!!!
