What’s worse than those obnoxious Dell commercials bombarding our senses since mid December (2002)? Many will say, a Dell computer itself!
Dell computers rose from obscurity to be one of the top selling computers in America. They are, by any measurement, one of America’s true success stories. But is their success
being taken for granted? Are they becoming arrogant and complacent? Is their quality control going to “hell in a hand-basket?”
Indications are that Dell is becoming sloppy and arrogant. Two glaring examples:
- A small medical center in Chicago ordered three Dell towers for their office. All three were either “dead on arrival” or died shortly thereafter!
- A jewelry manufacturer and distributor ordered a Dell server, eight Dell towers, and a Dell laptop. The laptop and three of the towers were either “dead on arrival” or died shortly
thereafter.
