From the number of emails we’ve been receiving pertaining to Dell’s promotional finance arrangements, perhaps there’s even another crack in their “good-guy” facade.
Here’s what one such viewer has to say:
I ordered a Dell computer online in November 2002 with the understanding that I would be paying 0% interest for six months. This is done through Dell Financial Services and was handled
via a telephone call in which their representative assured me that I qualified for the advertised rate.
However, when the monthly statement arrived, I was surprised to find that I was being charged 27% interest. I called immediately and was informed that I didn't qualify for the 0%
interest, I just qualified, period. This is more than deception or misrepresentation, it is a scam! All I could do was pay it off as quickly as possible and learn a valuable lesson -- Dell is NOT a good company
to do business with.
On another note about Dell, their customer service is as bad as their financing scam. Rude and incompetent would sum it up in two words.
