Chicago Trib

The Chicago Tribune, formerly known as the newspaper of choice for those in the political middle as well as those considered conservative, has now been labeled as one of the most liberal newspapers around, by none other than the prestigious Heartland Institute.

Editors at the Boycott Network label it as one of the most factually challenged rags on the market. And unfortunately, since many are unaware of how the Trib has been compromising its integrity with advocacy reporting, they are inclined to believe its contents. This is especially true of the elderly and others without Internet access.

How did it get that way? Many believe that shortly after the current managing editor took the helm, this formerly well thought of newspaper started heading down that ole slippery slope to becoming a rag.

Its advocacy reporting, liberalism (to point of being included in the Looney Left), and factually challenged articles have decimated its subscriber base. In fact, the 10/19/01 issue of the Trib reported that for the first time in over a decade, they incurred a quarterly loss.

Of course like most liberals, the Chicago Tribune blames their problems on something or someone else. In this case, they claim the events surrounding September 11th led to their loss of customers! Can you believe that? Unfortunately for the Trib, most analysts saw past that ruse, especially when comparable newspapers saw sales soar as Americans attempted to read as much news as possible about the disaster.
