"France has begun to feel the effect of a boycott of its wines by the United States in retaliation for opposition to the American-led war on Iraq, leading merchants (in Bordeaux, France) said here yesterday.

Nicolas Gailly, chief of the Barton and Guestier company, which contends it is the biggest French wine seller in the United States, acknowledges that sales had gone down, saying U.S. distributors were making less effort to market French products."
